Stand down 1


December 10, 2015. This is my first independent blog. I had blogged for the past year for a national trade magazine. However, I was apparently a little too conservative for them and we parted ways. So here I am attempting to set up a blog account without the help of a young human to guide me; you see I’m in my 60’s and computers were not something I grew up with in rural Vermont.

So here we are entering another Christmas season. A time for exchanging gifts with friends and loved ones, putting up the Christmas tree, attending house parties, and eating too much. It has be said in song to be “the most wonderful time of year”. Christmas Season

Well, here we are, December 30, 2013, the 6th day within the Octive of the Nativity of the Lord. Yes, Christmas is more than one day! It actually runs from Dec. 25 until January 12, ending with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. The greatest gift of the Season is Christ himself.
“In times past, God spoke in fragmentary and veried ways fo our fathers through the prophets; in this, the final age, he has spoken to us through his Son…” Hebrews 1.
Father we are filled with new light by the coming of your Word amoung us.
May the light of faith shine in our words and actions.
